Aravindh Chithambaram is an Indian Grandmaster and two-time Indian Champion (2018, 2019). A chess prodigy, Chithambaram dominated his first major tournament at the Chennai Grand Master International Open in 2013 with a score of 9/11, defeating four Grandmasters and two International Masters before even receiving his International Master norms. Chithambaram quickly earned his stripes, becoming an International Master in 2014 and his Grandmaster title in 2015. In recent years Chithambaram has had notable tournament successes including winning the Chennai Grand Masters Tournament against Levon Aronian in two blitz tie-breaks, as well as winning the 2025 Prague Chess Festival Masters by a full point, having been undefeated in all nine matches, concluding the event with an impressive 6/9 points with three wins and three draws.
