Jan-Krzysztof Duda is a former prodigy and the highest rated Polish player of all-time, being the first Polish junior player to cross 2700 in 2017. He won the FIDE World Cup (2021), defeating Magnus Carlsen in the semifinals in order to qualify for the 2022 FIDE Candidates. Duda is a previous World Youth Champion (2008 U10) and European Youth Champion (2012 U14), and has represented Poland in multiple Olympiads and other team events. Duda won the Superbet Rapid & Blitz (2022) with a clear four-point margin ahead of the rest of the field; a historic and unprecedented result and one of the greatest ever seen in a Grand Chess Tour event. More recently Duda has been playing in online chess events; during the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships in 2024, Duda won the World Rapid Team Championship as part of the WR Chess Team on board three.
