The London Chess Classic was the final leg of the 2015 Grand Chess Tour. The London Classic was held in classical format with 10 of the world's best battling it out in nine rounds for $300,000 in prize funds. The Carlsen-Grischuk game, the last one of the final round proved decisive given that the world champion needed to win that game in order to have any chance of winning the tournament and the Grand Chess Tour. The players did not disappoint and it proved to be the only decisive result of the last round, ultimately World Champion Magnus Carlsen took first place prize and won the 2015 Grand Chess Tour, earning a total of $215,000.00.

10 Player Classical Round Robin

A nine-round tournament with one round per day. Each player faces off against every other competitor throughout the tournament. Games are played at classical time controls and may last up to 6 hours each.
