Bogdan-Daniel Deac is a Romanian Grandmaster, and the number one ranked Romanian player. Having earned his International Master at 12 years old (2014) and his Grandmaster title at 14 years old (2016), he was the youngest International Master as well as the youngest Grandmaster at the time. Deac has played in a number of noteworthy events, including the European Individual Chess Championships in 2018 where he scored 6/11, the 2021 and 2024 European Chess Championships where he scored 8/11 in a tie for third in both events, the 2021 and 2023 World Cup tournaments, as well as the 2024 Reykjavik Open, where Deac won clear first with a score of 7.5/9.
