Bogdan-Daniel Deac

Bogdan-Daniel Deac has been the great hope of Romanian chess for over a decade. Deac, who earned the International Master title at 12 years old (2014) and became a Grandmaster at 14 years old (2016), has a peak rating of 2710 FIDE, which ranked him number 34 in the world at the time. 

Romania’s top-rated player, Deac has a number of outstanding results to his credit. These include sharing third in the 2021 European Chess Championships where he scored 8/11 and the 2024 Reykjavik Open, which Deac won with a score of 7.5/9. This past February, Deac won the Romanian Championship for the second time.  Last year he scored a creditable 4 from 9 in the Super Chess Classic Romania despite being the lowest rated player in the field.
