2017 GCT – Final Tour Participants And Event Allocations

The Grand Chess Tour is pleased to announce the event allocations for the nine tour participants of the 2017 Grand Chess Tour. All invited players accepted their invitations except for GM Vladimir Kramnik, who has been replaced by GM Levon Aronian.

The 9 tour participants will all compete in the 2017 Sinquefield Cup and the 2017 London Classic where they will be joined by one event level wildcard in each tournament. The nine tour participants have then been allocated as follows between the three rapid and blitz tournaments where they will be joined by four event level wildcards in each tournament.

The event level wildcards for the 2017 Paris Rapid as well as for the 2017 Your Next Move Rapid will be announced as soon as all recipients of event level wildcards have confirmed their participation.

IA David Sedgwick has been reappointed as the GCT Chief Arbiter for 2017.
