Arjun Erigaisi is one of the world’s top juniors who recently earned the elite, originally from Warangal, India. He is the 54th grandmaster from India, having earned the title at the age of 14 years and 11 months. Arjun has won a number of strong tournaments, including the 2022 Tata Steel Challengers, 2022 Abu Dhabi Chess Festival, and the 2022 Indian National Championship. He is the current World No. 5, with a peak FIDE rating of 2762 after recently tying for first in the 2024 Shenzen Masters. This will be Arjun’s first time playing in the GCT.
