Vladimir Fedoseev is a Russian Grandmaster and reigning European Champion in both Rapid chess (2024) as well as Chess960 (2024). Early in his career, Fedoseev won the U18 section of the Russian Youth Championships (2011), and won the team gold medal as part of the Russian team at the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad in the same year (2011). Later at the European Individual Chess Championship in 2014, Fedoseev won bronze, qualifying him for the FIDE World Cup in 2015. This marked the beginning of a long string of accomplishments for Fedoseev, with notable achievements including winning the Aeroflot Open (2017), and winning the silver medal at the World Rapid Chess Championship (2017). More recently, Fedoseev competed in the World Rapid and Blitz Championships and won the silver medal, only finishing behind Magnus Carlsen. The next year in 2024, Fedoseev defeated Carlsen at the Budapest Olympiad (2024), later going on to win the European Rapid and Chess960 Championships the same year.
